Hello readers! How is everyone doing?
Today we are wrapping up all the books I read during Bookoplathon. I had so much fun doing this readathon and watching most of the sprints. Please comment down below and let me know if you participated, because I would love to see what everyone read!
I was so excited to participate this round because I was very busy during the last one in July. Without further ado, let’s just jump into it!

This was my book for the dark cover prompt. It is about a young girl who finds out the women in her family are brujas, which are a type of witch. Not often enough in middle grade do we get to see people learning magical abilities instead of automatically knowing how to use them. I really enjoyed reading this one, and I hope to get to the next in the series soon.
⭐⭐ ⭐⭐ & ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I read both of these for the fantasy prompt. They are very short and easy to get through, so I just read both. They are a graphic novel series about these tea dragons. The dragons have leaves on their horns and tea can be made from it. The author is nonbinary, there is LGBT rep including a NB character in the second book, and physically disabled characters in both books. The second book is actually a prequel to the first one, and the third book is coming out this year. I read them on my Kindle, but I would love to go out and buy some copies!

I read this one for the contemporary prompt. I wanted to make sure and read this while it was still winter and failed that, because I read it on the 1st day of Spring. This is a story about a girl trying to find her purpose in life after being irrevocably injured. She is very passionately into ballet, and when she is injured, she can no longer do it. All of her friends are in ballet and she always found her purpose there. It is an interesting story about grief without it being about death of a person.
trigger warnings: loss of a parent

This one counts for POC rep. I don’t know how to explain this book without really saying the whole story. It is around 20 pages and only on Kindle Unlimited, which I recently acquired. Basically, we are in a world where 16-year-olds are tested for genetic diseases and disorders. If they have the ability to pass on a disorder or disease, they will not be allowed to have children. People who do pass are given a license to bear children. If you go ahead and have a baby anyway, they will take it from you. You also HAVE to produce a baby if you are licensed, whether you want to or not. In this story, we are following one licensed woman and one non-licensed woman, that is all I can say. It was a good story, I would just love to see more from the world.
trigger warnings: inability to have children, kidnapping, stolen children
⭐⭐
I read this one for my chance card. I just went to my Goodreads and tried to find a few books that were short. I thought this book would be different than what it was, and I just didn’t enjoy what it was. This is a book I know a lot of people love, but was just not for me. It surrounds a colony of mermaids, and the MC has to take in all the history of their colony so no one forgets it. The MC is having a really hard time remembering all this history because it is interfering with reality. They cannot tell what is past and what is present. If it sounds interesting to you, you may love it, I just didn’t.
trigger warnings: suicide ideation, suicide attempt, trauma, death, slavery, drowning, loss of a loved one
This book was for the prompt of 1st in a series. I have started WAY too many series during this readathon and this month. This story surrounds a family of dolls, but focuses on the daughter doll named Annabelle. It is similar to Toy Story, except the main character really doesn’t like being a doll. She is just wanting a purpose for her life. Another family of dolls moves in and we follow the adventures of her and one of the other dolls named Tiffany Funcraft.
⭐⭐⭐
I picked this book for the set in the present prompt. Jennifer Brown writes hard hitting YA contemporary novels. She has books about drug abuse, domestic abuse, school shootings, and much more. This one follows a girl whose entire house is destroyed by a tornado when she is home alone. She loses so much, including some family members, and is trying to cope with her new life. This story was inspired by a tornado that did actually happen in 2011, which took the lives of almost 160 people. However, the actual storyline is not true.
trigger warnings: loss of a sibling, loss of a parent, child abandonment, mentions of alcoholism, tornado, PTSD, panic attacks, invalidated feelings from trauma, violence, death
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one was for the prompt for a genre I don’t usually read. I was EXTRA hesitant to read this book, because I didn’t think I would like it. I don’t tend to like books following celebrities. However, I think this was my favorite book I read. We are following a reporter in present day and Evelyn Hugo telling her story of her past. Evelyn is the type of woman who knows what she wants and takes it. She is an icon that we all could learn to be more like. Just like any other person, she has made mistakes. We follow her telling all her life including her 7 husbands. I was 100% sure I wouldn’t like this, but Evelyn won me over.
I was also sure I would not like Daisy Jones and the Six because of the celebrity aspect AND I don’t like interview format. However, this book convinced me to consider picking that one up. I might try for the audiobook some time.
