Hello readers! Welcome to Down the TBR #2! It hasn’t been that long for me since I did the last one, but it has been two weeks for you. I’m just excited to get through this list. Please let me know if I inspire you to take part in this meme because I would love to check it out!
If this is your first time seeing this, Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lost in a Story and it is where you go over your Goodreads list 5-10 books at a time and decide to remove some or keep them.
When we left off, I had 148 books on my Goodreads TBR, but I did read one since then, so my current total is 147.

I started reading Echo back in 2019, I think. I did enjoy it, I just picked up something else and never continued. From what I remember, it is about a boy whose sister wanted to be in the Hitler youth during WWII.
Esperanza Rising is about a girl whose family immigrates from Mexico to America. I actually knew of this one before Echo and just didn’t realize it was the same author.
These are staying for now. There are a few middle grade readathons happening in the coming months, so I can read both or one for one of those.

This one is by Youtuber/Booktuber Peter Monn. He has 5 or 6 different Youtube channels on various things including Booktube, reviews, and drama. On his Booktube channel, he has actually taken a few videos and read this book out loud because it is currently not in print. So, if you are interested in it, he essentially has a free audiobook on his channel. I’m sure I will read this one eventually!

I was really excited for this book when it came out. However, I just don’t think I will read it now. From the things I have heard about it, I don’t think I will like it. This is only based on tropes I have heard are in this book that I don’t prefer. I’ve also heard it compared to Stranger Things, which is a show I don’t really like.
For all those reasons, I’m going to be removing this one. I never know, I might randomly pick it one day, but it isn’t likely.

I read The Invention of Hugo Cabret by this author a few years ago. I feel like that is his most popular work because of the movie. However, he is also a pretty well known artist. Here is the 20th anniversary set of Harry Potter that you may have seen before.
His books are really unique! They are told with words an pictures. I just haven’t bought this book by him yet, but I will one day. I’m really just trying to sell him as an author because his books are so interested and he is an amazing artist, too.

The last book I read in 2019 was Les Misérables by this author. It remains one of my favorite classics! I just haven’t read any classics in 2021 yet. I just haven’t been in the mood. However, I know myself and my mood for books change so often. So, I know I will eventually be back in the mood for the classics and I’ll read this!

I think I’m going to remove this one for now. I just am not that interested in reading this anymore. I’m not interested in Charles Dickens as an author. It isn’t anything personal with him, even though I know he put his wife into a mental institution because he wanted to leave her. It has nothing to do with that, even though that is terrible.
I might come back to this author in the future, but for now I am not interested.

This is a book I heard of from Booktube. I don’t think I will ever read it. It is one of those books within a book. I just never find myself wanting to pick it up.
I could end up reading this one day, but I don’t need it on my TBR.

I have wanted to read this book for so long, and that hasn’t changed one bit. I am 100% keeping this on here.
I believe this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which is something I want to read more of.

I don’t know why I didn’t read this in May, but I didn’t. I bought this book back in September 2020 just so I could read it in May and I didn’t. I will get to this book. It might be next May, but I’ll do it.
I tried another book by this author before and I didn’t like it, but I think I’ll love this one! I just need to get to it.

I’ve heard mixed things about Imaginary Friends, but I do own a copy and hope to try it out sometime soon.

I might still read it one day. I am interested to see what the author has done since his debut.
