Hello readers! Today I thought I would go over 10 popular authors I would really love to read from, but just haven’t yet. There are so many authors to try nowadays and I think I will always be behind! I’ll also share with you what I think I might read from them first, but most of the time, I have too many options.
This post is also me talking about how much I love audiobook narrator Bahni Turpin, so please comment down below and let me know your favorite audiobook narrator if you have one!

This author has been popular for a while now. None of his books really interested me UNTIL I saw his upcoming book. The Final Girl Support Group comes out in July and I’m really excited to try it. If I end up liking that one, I will most likely try The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires because I like the audiobook narrator Bahni Turpin.
This author has been on my radar for about a year now. I heard about Midnight Library before it came out and have yet to read it until this day. Since then, many more of this books have become popular in the bookish community and I think I’m going to try The Humans first because it seems really funny.
Tiffany D. Jackson
I have almost read books by this author too many times. I am not sure what I will pick up by her first. Grown is by far her most popular novel, but Mondays Not Coming seems to be her most beloved from what I have seen. However, I am most interested in Let Me Hear a Rhyme. Lastly, Allegedly is narrated by Bahni Turpin, so that is also a candidate.
I first heard about this author in high school. Once a month, my entire English class would take a trip to the library and the librarians would give us a rundown of all their newest books. They got copies of the Unwind series. However, I am not really interested in that anymore. I think I would read either Challenger Deep OR Dry. Those are some of his less popular books, but I think they sound the most interesting.
Anna-Marie McLemore (they/them)
This is an author I have so many options for. I am interested in Wild Beauty, Dark and Deepest Red, and most recently The Mirror Season. I want to read Mirror Season for a post I have been working on for a while now. If you have read from this author, please let me know your favorite book by them! I just can’t choose one.
I am interested in just about every book this author has written. I just have a horrible fear of contemporary romance and romance books. I am within the ACE spectrum, so I find it really hard to like romance. I love fantasy romance books, but I can’t always get on board with contemporary romance. The book I want to read the most is The Switch. I just love that trope and would like to read it more often.
This is another author I have almost read from over and over. I want to read Homegoing for that post I mentioned earlier and intended to read it in May for Buzzwordathon. I only read about half of the books I wanted in May for the Buzzwords of house and home. Also, I recently became interested in Trancendent Kingdom based on the audiobook narrator, Bahni Turpin.
Technically I have tried this author. I listened to a good chunk of Akata Witch a few months ago and for some reason didn’t finish it. My biggest issue with this author is, she write mostly scifi, which is not my thing. By the end of 2021, I absolutely want to finish Akata Witch, because I was really enjoying it.
I have a monthly project I am starting in July, going until I don’t feel like doing it anymore, where I pick a continent, part of a continent, a few countries, or just one country. I want to try to read books from authors all over the world or set all over the world. For July, I have picked Oceania. Hawaii is not really a part of any continent, but Hawaii is apart of the category of Pacific Islander, which is mostly in Oceania. Yanagihara is Native Hawaiian, Japanese, and Korean.
In July, I will be picking up A Little Life. I am so intimated by this book. I love books that devastate me, but the more people say this book will devastate me, the more I am too scared to read it. However, I picked up a copy of this book this month and I fully intend to read it. I’m (sort of) ready for the devastation.
I have Watch Us Rise, Ways to Make Sunshine, and Love is a Revolution on my Goodreads Want to Read shelf. I don’t know what has stopped me from trying this author! I did try to get Love is a Revolution as an ARC, but was denied. I am in a weird place right now where I will be denied for some and instantly given others. It is such a toss up. However, I will most likely try Some Places More Than Others because it is narrated by Bahni Turpin!
