WWW Wednesday (June 30, 2021)

Hello readers! I hope everyone’s reading went really well in June. My did NOT. I didn’t really enjoy most of what I read and I didn’t read much. I took almost half the month off of reading and just this week started up again.

If you don’t know WWW Wednesday a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read, are reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

Before we go any further, I want to disclaim there are affiliate links and ads within this post. When you use my links, you will be supporting my content and I will make a small commission.

What are you currently reading?

This is the second book in a self-pubbed, cozy mystery series called Beachfront Bakery (more down below). I am not too far in right now, but I plan to finish it before midnight, so I can start something fresh in the month!

What did you read last?

This is the 1st book in the Beachfront Bakery series about a girl named Allison. She ends up getting fired from her job as a sous chef and learns her boyfriend, who she financially supports, is cheating on her (and is leaving her) for a man. She ends up moving to a new apartment and starts her very own bake shop.

I really loved how she didn’t have the bakery at the beginning of the book. I have only read one other foodie cozy mystery and the bakery was well established by page one. I can’t wait to see where this series goes!

As of writing this, A Killer Cupcake is free for Kindle.

What will you read next?

I joined my very first book tour! My date is on the 3rd of July and I’ll be hosting it on my Instagram. Maya Loop is a middle grade novel about a girl whose grandmother is kidnapped by aliens and she has to adventure out to get her back. I don’t think I’ve ever read a scifi middle grade book before and I’m super excited for it!

Three copies of this book are currently in a giveaway on Goodreads and there will be another giveaway to come on the book tour.

Yesterday’s giveaway post was on on Instagram if you would like to check that one out, too!

I just love the idea of helping small authors. 🙂
