WWW Wednesday (July 28, 2021)

Hello readers! We are nearing the end of July and I still have 2 books I really want to get to by the end of the month. I am finally back into it and reading every day. I wish I could have read more books this month, but I enjoyed the majority of them that I did get to!

If you don’t know WWW Wednesday a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read, are reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

Before we go any further, I want to disclaim there are affiliate links and ads within my posts. When you use my links, you will be supporting my content and I will make a small commission. I also have a Ko-Fi, linked at the bottom, if you would like to support me in that way.

What are you reading?

I am about 200 pages into A Little Life at the moment. So far, it has been pretty heavy, as far as the information goes. There is a TON of background about each of the 4 MCs.

I always like books that are devastating. It’s just that everyone says this is the MOST devastating that made it so intimidating for me. However, I’m ready to get through this one.

Trigger warnings:

I received Battle Royal from NetGalley as an E-arc and will be released on August 17th.

I just started this one last night. Battle Royal is a rivals to lovers romance about two people who go head-to-head in a baking competition. I’m only 2 chapters in so far, so I don’t have any opinions yet. I am just crossing my fingers hoping I’ll love it!

What did you read last?

This book is about nine people who go to this health resort for ten days and some unexpected things happen.

Nine Perfect Strangers has 11 perspectives, which is too dang many. I listened to this on audio and it drove me crazy that Marsha’s voice sounded like Dexter from that cartoon Dexter’s Lab. Most of the book was just backstory and everything that happened in the present was just weird.

I just feel like there were so many lessons to learn from how these characters acted, especially the women, and none of those lessons were learned.

What will you read next?

Beach front Bakery series is about a woman who gets out of a long-term relationship and decides to open her own bakery. There is also a murder mystery plot in each one. I read the first two books in June and really loved it.

Yesterday I was looking on Hoopla and saw they added the 3rd book in this series and I think this is the last one that has been published so far. Either way, I think this will be my first book of July.

I decided to participate in a readathon revolving around foodie books called the Book Buffet Readathon. Do you guys want to see a TBR for that? I saw the readathon AFTER I posted my TBR for August, but I’ll post another one if you want me to!
