Book Blogger Insider Tag

Hello readers! Today I am bringing you another tag. I searched endlessly to find the creator. One person said it was created by an account called The Writing Crafter and another said A Little Slice of Jaime, both of which no longer exist. I’m not sure which one of these people created it, or if it was someone completely different.

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

Typically, I am either sitting on the floor in my living room or at the dining room table. I don’t know why, but I love sitting on the floor. I also have a TV tray to sit my laptop on if I want to sit on the couch, but that is probably the least likely place I’ll be writing.

How long does it take you to write a book review?

It really depends on the book and how much I have to say. I prefer to do review on Bookstagram because I like the format much better. However, I do write little mini reviews for just about every book I read. I try to save the really long reviews for 1,2 and 5 star reads.

When did you start your book blog?

August 25, 2020. It has been a year and almost 2 months since I started this thing and I’m so happy I did!

What is the worst thing about having a blog in your opinion?

Book bloggers being ignored by the rest of the book community! I love watching Booktubers and Bookstagrammers, but they aren’t always inclusive to us, the book bloggers.

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

The community! I love reading everyone else’s posts and getting comments on mine. The biggest supporters of bloggers are other bloggers. I love being able to have my opinions seen by other people and seeing how I compare to my favorite bloggers.

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

Probably my One Year Blogiversary post! It took a few weeks to come up with the questions with Leafpages and write it, but it was super fun! My favorite part was creating my very own bookmark. I truly didn’t know if I would end up sticking with this blog and I can’t believe it’s been a year already.

What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

TBRs! I love planning out what I’m going to read. I will be planning what I’m going to read in the next month ALL month long. I really enjoy the process of making TBRs.

When do you typically write?

Whenever the mood strikes. I try to write as much as I can when I’m in the mood, so I don’t have to push out content when I’m not feeling it. It’s less fun if you are forcing yourself to do it! I just have these moods I get in for a few days where I want to write as many posts as I can, so that is what I do.

Do you review every book you read?

Kind of. I try to do a mini review of every book in my wrap ups. I sometimes feel like I can’t say much because of spoilers. Sometimes, I literally just have nothing to say. When it comes to 3 star reads, I just have nothing to say. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. Since becoming a blogger, I have really resented writing negative reviews. I just don’t want to be known for my negative thoughts about books I don’t like.

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of tea or coffee? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?

I write while I either listen to a book, watch a TV show or YouTube, or listen to music. I’m a chronic multitasker. I am almost never doing just one thing at a time. Right at this very moment, I am watching Ghost Adventures. My Mom’s dog is usually cuddled next to me and I always have a drink, but it isn’t a certain thing each time. Right now, I have peppermint mocha ice coffee with me.

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?

I write my reviews after reading if I post them on Goodreads. I used to post a ton of reviews on Goodreads before the blog came along. However, when it comes to my wrap ups, I write it as I go. I will get on my wrap up post once a week and write about all the books I read that week. If I wait until weeks later, I won’t be able to remember everything I wanted to say.

I also have this mini notebook where I can write notes about a book as I’m reading it. So, if there is something I really didn’t like or liked a lot, I can quickly jot it down for later. I do not have a great memory, so I need written evidence of my opinions or I will forget them.

How often do you post?

I post Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. At this moment, Wednesdays are always WWW Wednesdays and Thursdays are going to be tag posts until further notice.
