Spring Book Haul

Hello readers! Happy Thursday. Today’s post is about some books I bought recently. I have been very strategic with the books I’ve acquired this year, so it won’t be out of hand.

Thanks to everyone whose been giving my posts some love these past few days! It is hard to get back into it, but I’m determined.

Most of these books came from Better World Books and others came from Books A Million. Better World Books is an online used bookstore that I haven’t ordered from in a long time! I used to have an affiliate code, but I don’t anymore.

I was browsing the bargain section at BAM (books a million) and found Click and Camp, then acquired ACT later on BWB (Better World Books).

This series follows Olive. In book one, her entire grade has to do this talent show and she isn’t invited into any group to do a talent with them. She is at the age where people start forming clicks, but she likes being friends with everyone. She has one weekend to decide what she should do at the show and she finds her calling.

I finished Mistborn era 1 at the end of 2021 and now I’m moving on to era 2. There will be 4 books in this series, but only 3 are published.

All I know about these is they take place 300 years after Mistborn era 1 and I think that’s all I need to know!

I couldn’t resist grabbing a copy of this when I saw it on BWB. I have only heard bad and creepy things about this book, but I know I have to try it out myself.

If you haven’t heard of Midnight Sun, it is Twilight, but it’s in Edward’s perspective. I’m not sure about this one, but I gotta try it!

This is the 5th book in a middle-grade series called Mr. Lemoncello’s library. This is the last published book in the series, but the author has said more books are coming.

If you like middle-grade books, games, and libraries, definitely give this series a try! Each book has a different game inside of a library just for kids owned by a board game creator.

We Were Liars shot up in popularity the past year or so on Tik Tok, which has caused the author to write another book. I read this one about 6 years ago and just decided to get my own copy.

We are following 2 timelines. In the present, the MC is trying to reach out to her long-distance friends online and through mail, but they wont answer her. Then, we have the past and finding out what even created this problem she is experiencing.

All I know about this one is that it’s a middle-grade fantasy. I don’t read many of those, but I saw this in the bargain section and just decided to go for it.

This one follows two siblings who explore their grandmother’s house and find a portal to another world. I do love portal fantasy, so I’m hoping for the best.

This is the 4th and final book in the Descendents series. I hoped to get to it this month, but it wasn’t in the cards. However, these don’t take long to get through and it’ll be one less series I’m in the middle of!

The Doll People Set Sail is the 4th and final book in the doll people series. This series follows a family of porcelain dolls. In the first book, Annabelle Doll wants to leave their dollhouse to find Auntie Doll, who went missing decades before. This family of dolls has been owned by 3 generations of girls, and the Auntie Doll went missing when the original girl owned them.

I really love this series and it took a long time to find a copy of this last one! I’m planning to get to it VERY soon.

My husband bought me this one from BAM. I LOVE watching Ghost Adventures. I’m only about 12 seasons in at this point. Zak is the main person on the show and I’m excited to read his book.

It says this one is about him buying a haunted house in Indiana, which is where I live. That house is in Gary, Indiana and I live in Terre Haute. I’m excited for this one and let me know if you watch Ghost Adventures, too!

Graveyard Shakes follows three kids. Two are sisters going to a new boarding school and a Frankenstein-type boy (not the boy on the cover). His dad kills a kid every 13 years and gives him the soul. He almost died many years ago and needs them to stay alive, but he doesn’t want to do it. The girls both become potential victims of this process.

I already read this one. I picked it up from my local library and didn’t even look at the description. I liked this story, but it was lacking a lot. It needed more pages, or a second book to work with.
