My Big Book Challenge

Hello readers! Today I thought I’d share a challenge with you that I wanted to start. Sharing it will probably keep me doing the challenge! There is some more accountability when you share challenges with other people.

This is a challenge to slowly read 1 big book a month, and I mean 700+ pages. There will a few that are a big shorter, but most will be giants. I have been so slumpy this year and honestly struggle to start any book over 320-ish pages. So, my idea is to take a big book and challenge myself to 20-50 pages of that book every day until I finish it. I feel as though that is totally doable! I used to read predominantly 400+ page books and this year it is more books at 300 or less. I don’t mind reading these shorter books, but I’m mostly focused on the bigger books.

The very first book I’m starting with is the 2nd book in the Song of Ice and Fire series. This book is 728 pages, if you take out all the extra stuff at the back. I’ve seen the whole show and the 2 episodes of House of the Dragon, so I know I can easily submerge myself into this world. I have just neglected this series because it isn’t finished and I don’t know if it ever will be.

The following books are ones on the top of my priority list but are in no particular order and I might add more in the future. If I only add one book in the series, I’m just not sure if I want to continue. For the most part, those are the first books in a series, but not in every case. . LET ME KNOW which books I should prioritize (OR add to the list).
