Top 10 Favorite Series

Hello readers! I thought it would be a fun challenge to list my favorite series of all time. These will not be in any particular order. I’ve been working on this post for way too long and it’s finally time to share it with all of you!

I’ve started over 100 series and finished 39 of those. Some of these will be unfinished series, I just know they will be a favorite until the last book.

The Night Huntress Universe consists of 24 books, 8 in the Night Huntress series, 4 in the Night Prince series, 3 in the Night Rebel series, 2 in the Night Huntress World duology, and the rest are novellas/short stories. I have not read EVERY single book, but I have started a reread and continuation of it.

The main series (Night Huntress) follows a half vampire named Cat who hunts vampires. She is captured by a vampire named Bones and forms an alliance with him that turns smutty.

What makes me love this series is all the characters. The friendships, the love interests, and even the enemies are written so well. Some of the romances within the entire universe are a bit insta-lovey. Overall, the characters and the fast-moving plots make these books unputdownable to me.

The House of Night series is 12 books. This one also has other books in the universe, but the main series is just the 12. This was one of my favorite books as a teen. Looking back now, I know it would not be a favorite if I read it today. HOWEVER, I look back fondly on it.

In this series, the vampires are chosen by fate. Zoey gets marked by a tracker vampire and has to go to this boarding schools. It is sort of like Vampire Academy, including the teacher student romance, but the vampires have these tattoos that shows what they are.

As a character driven reader, the characters made me love this book. I loved reading about Zoey and the Nerd Herd, and all the mythology that came with the series.

I’m starting to think I just like long series. The Shopaholic series is eight books. It follows a woman named Becky who has a shopping addiction. We follow her from before she meets the love interest, Luke, all the way until she is a mother.

In every book, Becky gets herself into some sort of issue by buying too much stuff, hides it from everyone, and somehow fixes all her problems by the end.

This series is too long, but by the end, I was about to cry from it being over. I’ll miss these characters and all their silly problems.

The Bromance Book Club is a 5 book anthology series following 5 friends. In book one, Gavin is facing the end of his marriage. He joins the book club to help learn how to romance his wife and reignite the spark in his marriage.

This series is so funny! These characters are so great together as friends, but also have a ton of chemistry in their respective romances.

There was only one book that I didn’t love. Book 4, following Vlad (The Russian), had the WORST love interest. I couldn’t get into her character, but all the others I loved.

I just wish this author had written more books! I’d love to read more by her in the future.

Cirque Du Freak is a 12 book middle-grade series following a kid who ends up becoming a vampire. This is a middle-grade series, but I don’t think most kids could stomach the violence, my child certainly could not.

I read this for the first time in high school and LOVED it. These are such quick reads that will have you on the edge of your seat. They take place over the span of a few decades and the ending is one of those that you will either love or hate. Either way, it is shocking.

The Darkest Minds is one of those series that I love, but never hear anyone mention. I know, I know, it was popular around 10 years ago. However, I think it deserves more love!

This is a dystopian series following a girl named Ruby. All the kids in the world woke up one day with these powers and she has one of the most dangerous, mind control. Most kids with this power have been killed, but she pretends to have a different power. This series is all about the rebels in a dystopian world.

The Seaside Cafe Mystery series is a cozy mystery series following Everly. She moves back to her hometown when her relationship goes wrong and opens a sweet tea shop.

I was trying to get into cozy mystery series for months and this was the first one that I genuinely loved from beginning to end. I think it was the characters and their relationships. They were better than any other one I’ve tried. Maybe I just tried bad ones, I’m not sure. If there is a cozy mystery series out there that you know and love that specifically centers food, LET ME KNOW!

Death Note is a 12-book manga series. It centers this teen named Light who finds a book called the Death Note. When you write a name in the book, that person die. If you just write the name, they die of a heart attack, but the owner of the Death Note can write extremely specific ways the person dies.

This is such a great series that only gets more intense as you read it. Every character is unique, so smart, and unpredictable. This is also a really great intro into manga because it’s not ridiculously long.

This series has been in my life for over 10 years and I honestly can’t get enough. They are a mix between a regular book and a comic book. Greg Heffley isn’t nice, likable, or even the smartest kid, but he sure is funny to follow.

This is a great series for kids, and it’s even better to read when your kids love it. My daughter started reading this series about a year ago and I love that we both love it.

  1. My son discovered the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series a few months ago and he’s absolutely obsessed! I never read them, but I love how it gets him interested in reading and even asking to go get the next books when he runs out, something he’s never done before. It’s also just a lot of fun to hear him giggle while reading. Definitely sounds like an interesting series!
