Hello readers! Today’s post is a tag. Spring is one of my favorite seasons. My absolute favorite is probably Winter. However, I was born in Spring and I do love seeing all the birds and flowers again.
This tag was created all the way back in 2014 by Helene Jeppesen. Weirdly enough, she is the reason I changed my name online. I used to do Booktube back in 2013/2014 under the name Allys Bookish Life. She mentioned me in a video, I honestly don’t remember what for, and she had a hard time saying it. I hated seeing someone struggle with my name, so I changed it when I came back to the book community.
Now onto the questions!
How is spring where you live?
It has been pretty rainy the past few days and mostly cold. It’s so weird. I live in Indiana for context. The first and second day after spring started, it was snowing and now its been raining ever since. Indiana weather is so unpredictable sometimes.
Most anticipated book release this spring?

I just posted 14 Spring New Releases I’m excited for, but if I had to pick one, it would be Yellowface.
As soon as I heard of this book I knew it would be good. I actually haven’t read from this author before, but I know its drastically different from any of her previous novels.
It follows two authors, June, who is white, and Athena, who is Asian. They are both planning to publish in the same year, but Athena dies before that can happen. This causes June to steal Athena’s work. Not only does June steal Athena’s work, she also created an Asian pseudonym called Juniper Song. June struggles to keep her secret as some people may figure it out.
I just know there are real authors out there who do pretend to be a race they are not and that is just a facinating concept to bring to the page for me.
Show us a book cover that makes you think of spring

I amlost bought this book the other day at the store and I regret putting it back so much. I want to own all this authors books because I’ve read them and loved them.
This cover is full of flowers and fruit, two things that start to come out in the Spring. Last year I had a garden of fruits and veggies in the yard and it was so much work.
Plus, you can never go wrong with a book centered around food.
Where are you going to read this spring?
As I am moving soon, I am not sure. However, I hope we can find a place where I can read outside. I do like sitting outside on the porch occasionally to read in the spring and summer, as long as I’m not in the sun. I burn so easily, for real.
This place we really want will have a yard, so I can sit outside and read while my daughter plays.
Find a cover with the sun on it

It can barely be seen, but this does have a sun on it! I have been kind of obsessed with this series lately. I haven’t read much of anything this month, but I do have the most recent book in this series on Libby!
I have been a little slumpy because of some low rated books AND other things going on in my life. However, I think this last book in the series could bring me out of it.
What are your favorite spring reads?
I would like to say that I don’t reread books, but I have been doing that in 2023. I’m hoping to continue my reread and continuation of the Night Huntress World. That’s kind of spring-y, as they are romance books!
Find a book with many different colors on it.

Does anyone ever notice some of the most beautiful books are the saddest ones? Are they trying to trick us? I’m not sure.
This is a non-fiction taking place during Auschwitz, following Dita Kraus and her journey there. She is currently living in Israel at 93-years-old and was born in Prague. Even though Dita lived, her story did not have much of a happy ending.
