Hello readers! Today’s post is full of books I’ve unhauled. I already had some I was planning to get rid of, but the knowledge of moving made me grab even more off the shelves. I got rid of a series I never thought I would and I feel so free from it now.
I just wanted to take this time to say thank you to anyone who is reading this, has read my posts in the past, or leaves comments. I am very shy in a way and don’t always know what to say what to say when someone leaves a comment, but I always read them and appreciate them!
As the title states, I have over 20 books to go over that I unhauled. Most of these books are in a series.

I’m just going to tell you in advance that 13 of these books are Harry Potter or related, including these, but I have many more after that.
That series I finally got rid of is the Harry Potter series. I was holding onto these because I had spent so much money on them back in 2013. I spent around 80 dollars for this box set, but it’s been 10 YEARS. I think I can let it go.
It’s been 10 years now and I know I’ll never reread them again. I know they are so damn pretty, but what other joy are they bringing me?
I always had that mindset that I already bought them, so why does it matter. I guess, it doesn’t. However, I just don’t want to own them anymore. AND, I’m not judging anyone who keeps their copies. It’s just a personal choice for me NOT to.

For these three, I’m leaving them for my Mom. These are the original books I had from childhood. PLUS, that Tales of Beedle the Bard cover is just so gorgeous. I honestly think that one is a first edition of the book. I am a sucker for a first edition!

Getting rid of these three books really made me realize something. I’ve had that Daniel Radcliffe books since childhood and it make me think about my Mom’s love for this series. She bought me all the books I own, except the actual series. She really forced me into liking Harry Potter.
I didn’t even read the books until I was an adult, and I saw every single move in theatre. The first movie came out when I was 7 and my mom bought me everything from the series from posters to bedsheets to the movies. It was all forced onto me by her. I did enjoy the movies as I got older and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I was always keeping these books for reasons outside myself and I’m done with that.

I read this one back in December and I am just unhauling it because I didn’t love it. I bought this at Books A Million for 5 dollars and just sold it right back to them. It had an interesting concept, but just lacked the execution.

The only reason I’m unhauling these is the new covers. I’ve only read Throne of Glass so far.
I saw new covers were out and I honestly like them a lot more than these. I only had 3, so I thought it wasn’t too late to switch.

I was doing this project where I wanted to read or unhaul about 8 books I picked out. The first one I picked was Restore Me. I’ve owned this book for around 3 years and hadn’t read it just yet. I am abandoning the series because I’m not reading right now. I am just too stressed with everything going on.
I read the original series when it was a trilogy, reread it in 2019/2020, and wanted to continue. However, this continuation was not good. I think the politics were interesting, but Juliette was so annoying. I don’t remember thinking she was annoying before, but I do now.
I read the book, didn’t like it, and now I’m just unhauling the whole thing. I have the original two books on audio of I ever want to reread.

Here is another one that was on the read it or unhaul it post. It was actually the try a chapter tag, but I would either read it or unhaul it.
I read book one back in 2020 and finally picked up book two this month. I honestly read only one chapter. In the try a chapter tag, you pick 5 or so books to read the first chapter in and then decide which ones to read. So, I read one chapter, and decided I’m not into the series anymore.

The last one I read for that post is A Boy Called Christmas. I actually read about 50 pages of this before giving up.
I just didn’t like the evil aunt character. To me, it felt like the evil step parent trope, but as an aunt. I hate that trope. I don’t understand why this kid would be left alone with someone who so clearly hates children.
I honestly might watch this movie later this year, but the book is off my self for now. Even though I’m abandoning the post, it really did help me to unhaul 7 books, which I love! I will do this post for real later this year once we are settled into a new place.

This one was going to be on the try a chapter tag post, but I am just unhauling it. I might still listen to it later on, but I don’t know when that will happen.
I read over 100 pages in this book and got to this part with an info-dump. At that point, I was LOST. That was about three or so years ago.
I meant to pick it up again and try from the beginning, but I’m just unhauling it instead. It’s been so long and I don’t know when I’ll actually get to it.

I love that you decided to break away from series that no longer excites you that shows growth not just as a reader and collector but as a person who tries to hold on to things for the sake of someone else’s feelings it shows that you aren’t willing to have other people live through you anymore and I love that! Keep up the good work!
