Spring Book Haul

Hello readers! I have been book blogging since August of 2020, and I haven’t written even one book haul before. For this book haul, I have 18 books, 12 of which are in one box set.

Please comment down below and let me know if you have read any of these books and what you think of them.

Before we go any further, I want to disclaim there are affiliate links and ads within this post.

I got this one for my birthday back at the end of March from my husband. I read all theses books back in high school and I’ve really been wanting to reread them. I LOVED this series back then and I have been enjoying the reread!

This is a middle grade series about a kid named Darren Shan, which is also the author’s name. It is about his journey through becoming and being a vampire. I think it is a bit gory and violent for a middle grade series, but I was way over the age range when I read it.

TW: death, poisoning, gore, death of a child, violence

This is the 3rd book in the Rowley Jefferson series, which is a companion series to Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I own all the books in both series, so I instantly bought this one upon release. The second and third books are sort of books within books. They are a bunch of stories made up by Rowley himself. I’m going to be saving this one for fall, as the stories are ‘spooky’.

In the last 9 months or so, I have been trying to dive into adult high fantasy books. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this series from the fantasy book community.

I did try to read this one in May, but I am still in my reading slump and I wasn’t really grasping a lot of information. I’m going to try this one again a few months down the road when I will appreciate it more. I need to break out the tabs and annotate it to help me along, too.

I honestly wish there were more books out there with white covers! This book is so stunning.

TW: animal death, bullying

Since I have been really delving into adult fantasy books, I have been discovering a love for fantasy standalones. I know this book is female centered, LGBT, and a giant books, which is something I love. I don’t know when I’ll read this one, but I know I will love it when I do!

I first read Shatter Me back when it was only 3 books. In 2019, I decided to reread Shatter Me, so I could continue and finish the series once again. I haven’t heard a lot of people say amazing things about the continuation, but I want to see for myself if I love it.

Sarah J Maas was an author I was TERRIFIED to try. She is so polarizing, and I commonly find myself on the unpopular side of opinions. However, I finally tried her ACOTAR series late last year, and now I am finally starting this one.

This one is about a girl named Bryce, who is half human and half fae. Most of her friends are suddenly murdered and she is on this journey to find who the killer is. This book has fae, angels, werewolves, demons, and all other kinds of species in it.

What pushed me to read it was a buddy read on Instagram. A bunch of people on Instagram are currently reading this together. As a matter of fact, I am one day behind on my pages. I had a really bad migraine and neck pain yesterday. However, today I am feeling fine and plan to catch up!

I forgot to mention that my husband bought me this book for Mother’s Day. He always finds excuses to buy me books, and I can’t be mad about it!

I also joined a book club on Instagram with a bunch of other Bookstagrammers that starts in June. It is a fantasy book club and we all voted on reading Legendborn by Tracy Deonn.

My husband also bought me this book for Mother’s Day and I can’t wait to read it with everyone!

If you would like to join us, the book club is called Between Realms and is hosted by Nightnursereads on Instagram. She also just started a romance one called Between the Covers book club, and they are reading Shipped by Angie Hockman in June. DM her if you want to join either or both!
